Whitney Moffitt - Developmental X

Whitney Moffitt enters her 8th season as a head coach and 5th season as a director of Mont Belvieu. She has experience with mostly 15U, and in 2021, her 15 Adidas team won Lone Star Regionals and secured Xcel's first bid to GJNCs. 

She graduated with a master's degree in hospitality management with an emphasis in sports events from University of Houston. During this time, Moffitt was the assistant coach for Lee College. She has event production experience for NJCAA, NAIA, and NFL. As a college student-athlete, she played four years as a middle blocker at UST and Lee College. She recieved several athletic accolades such as Most Valuable Player at Lee and UST, NJCAA Region XIV First Team All-Region and All-Conference selections, and Lee College Presidential Volleyball Award. Moffitt finished second in the nation in NAIA for blocks per set her senior season. She currently holds the UST record for blocks per set and total blocks in a season.


Sara Lough is a former director of TCA Volleyball Club where she owned and directed her club for 10 years with 18 teams. She has over 21 years coaching experience coaching all age groups and has sent a few teams to nationals.  She also coached volleyball for Aldine ISD for 10 years. She taught 8th grade English in Aldine ISD for 10 years and is currently teaching 5th grade at Huffman Elementary School.  This is her 15th year teaching. Her husband Justin Lough is an operator at Lyondellbasell. She balances a busy life with three amazing children!

Skylar Langelier - 13 Adidas

Skylar is from Mont Belvieu and attended Barbers Hill School where he was a triple sport athlete in football (quarterback), basketball (point guard), and track (sprinter & triple/long jump). Skylar began picking up volleyball and soon became involved recreationally and competitively. He played in 6 on 6 leagues and sand volleyball games in Baytown and later competed in tournaments across Texas in the class B level (intermediate). He currently still competes in tournaments when his schedule allows. Skylar is a well-rounded and high energy coach returning for a second season in 13U.

Kylee Kejonen - 13 Navy

Kylee Kejonen returns to the Xcel staff for her fourth season. She is a local for the Mont Belvieu location and has played for Barbers Hill and Stellar the last 6 seasons. She has experience in all three front row positions and has earned the following accolades: First Team All-District 21-5A, Academic All District, TAVC 5A All State Academic Team, GHVCA All Academic Team, GHVCA Watch List, Vype Middles Watch List, Vype Middle Preseason Pole, and Under Armor All-American Watch List. Coach Kejonen played at Lee college and currently studies business management. 

Makinze "Kinze" Spivey - 13 White

Makinze Spivey graduated from Deer Park High School where she was a three-year letterman. A well-rounded player, she has experience in setting, defense and swinging right side. While attending Deer Park, Makinze was selected for VYPE Setter of the Year Preseason Pole and VYPE Player of the Year Pole. She has six years of experience playing club for Houston Stellar and TEC. Kinze's team qualified for 2021-22 GJNCs after earning a bid at regionals. After high school, she continued to play collegiately at Louisiana Christian University and studied business management. 

Kelsie Walker - 14 Adidas

Coach Walker is a Baytown native that returns for her fifth year at the Mont Belvieu location. She is a graduate from Goose Creek Memorial High School and was an integral part of the volleyball program as a setter. Walker earned Volleyball Scholar Athlete of the Year three consecutive years, 2016 Dickinson Tournament Champion and All-Tournament Team, and the position as varsity team captain. Walker broke two records during her high school career: total assists in one season and total career assists. 

Walker will be a senior at the University of St. Thomas for the women's volleyball program as a setter. She led the Celts to a 25-7 overall record and Red River Athletic Conference Championship her sophomore year. She is studying business administration and holds a 4.0. 

Andrea Nava - 14 National & 16 White

Andrea "Dre" is a Baytown native with a big background in volleyball. She was a three-year letter winner at Clear Lake High School and earned All-District 24-6A honors and Clear Lake Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior. As a senior, she was named to the All-Texas Team Player To Watch List, earned all-tournament honors at the Clear Creek ISD Tournament and garnered honorable-mention distinction on the PrepVolleyball Defensive Dandies ranking at the club level. After high school, she continued her career as a DS/libero at University of New Orleans. Dre finished her career with 1,349 digs, which put her in third in program history. A four-year letter winner, Nava finished seventh in the Southland in digs during her senior season. She returned to the program as an assistant coach in 2020 after graduating with a degree in Health Care Management.


Coach Rodriguez is from Baytown, TX and was an active athlete for Barbers Hill High School. She was a letterwinner for cross country, track, volleyball, and soccer. Celeste then continued her volleyball career at Lee College where she was a recipient of several awards including Presidential Honor's Day Volleyball Award, Lee College Volleyball Legacy Award, Class Act Award, The Elvin Bethea Hall of Fame Sportsmanship Award, and she was honored for outstanding community service hours. Celeste has playing experience with all positions on the court as a key utility player. She's currently finishing her degree at UH Clear Lake while being very active in the gym as a top trainer.

Ryleigh Sutton - 14 White

Ryleigh Sutton is a familiar face at Xcel. She's played volleyball since the 7th grade and played three seasons for the club during 15U-17U. Primarily a setter, she was a four-year letterman at Baytown Christian Academy. She received All-District honors multiple seasons and was awarded All Around Player her sophomore year and MVP her junior year. Ryleigh was team captain her last two seasons and graduated 3rd in her class. She was also involved in National Honor Society and FCA. Ryleigh has been an inspiration and coach to her two younger sisters that also play for Xcel.

Madi Miles - 15 ADIDAS

Madi Miles is a Mont Belvieu native and attended Barbers Hill High School. She was a two-year letterwinner as a setter and team captain both seasons. She led her team to regional finals and regional semi-finals running a 5-1. Madi earned an impressive list of accolades that include All-District First Team, District 21-5A Setter of the Year, GHVCA Fab 50 Preseason Team, Baytown Sun Super 25 Team, TSWA All-State, and Academic All-State. She graduated BHHS 17th in her class and continued her volleyball career at Sam Houston State University where she played on a NCAA DI full athletic scholarship. Madi graduated with a BS in biology and double minor in psychology and public health. She currently works as an embryologist in one of the largest fertility clinics in the united states. 

Katelyn Faulk - 15 Navy

Katelyn Faulk is from Baytown and attended Sterling High School. She was 2-year letterwinner with a well-rounded positional background as an outside, right side, and defense specialist. Katelyn played collegiately at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, and again, played multiple positions including setter. Katelyn returned home and is now a nursing major at Lee College. Staying involved in volleyball, she has coached for summer leagues and camps.

Shaila Rivon - 15 White

Shaila Rivon is from Baytown and started playing in the 6th grade. She attended Goose Creek Memorial and was a three-year letterman. Shaila was versatile as an effective pin hitter on the outside and right side. She helped lead her team to a bi-district championship and district championship. Shaila continued her career to play locally at Lee College. Throughout the years, she's worked numerous college/club volleyball camps and has assistant and head coaching experience for 13U. Shaila currently works for the City of Baytown in the  Parks and Recreation department working with athletics within the community. She is great with kids and brings contagious energy into the gym!

Samantha Boatman - 16 Adidas

Samantha "Samm" played for powerhouse Concordia Lutheran High School and was a four-year letterman as a setter and defense specialist. Throughout her high school seasons, she earned All-District 2nd Team, All-District 1st Team, All-State Honorable Mention, and All-State 1st Team. Samm helped lead her team to deep playoff runs including state semifinals in 2015 and a state championship in 2016. She furthered her career playing for Blinn College where she led the Buccaneers to 29-10 overall record and earned First Team All-Conference in 2018. She then transferred to play NCAA DI volleyball at Sam Houston State University. Samm is currently the interim varsity head coach for St. Pius X.

Carly Dyess - 16 Navy

Carly Dyess is the head volleyball coach at Dayton High School.  Previously, she served as the head coach at New Waverly High School. She is a graduate of Troup High School where she played setter and defensive specialist on the varsity all 4 years. She earned the honor of District MVP Setter 2 years in a row, while leading the Lady Tigers to their first district title in school history. It was also the first undefeated regular season and the first time the school reached the area round of the playoffs. She also played club volleyball for the East Texas Juniors. After graduating from high school, Carly attended Panola College in Carthage, Texas on a volleyball scholarship where she was a defensive specialist two years for the Fillies. She transferred to Sam Houston State University and graduated in December of 2018 with her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and minor in Secondary Education. Carly has a die-hard passion for the game of volleyball and strives to not only help her athletes improve in their game, but to become productive successful young ladies.


Becca Estrada is from Richmond, TX and played for Travis High School as a two-year letterman. Both seasons she led the program to two 6A playoffs and earned All-District 20-6A Honorable Mention, Second Team All-Area, and All-District 20-6A Academic Team following her junior and senior seasons. She continued to play at Vernon College and appeared in all 32 matched as a freshmen leading in assists and hitting percentage. Becca completed her degree from Wharton County Junior College and then transferred to University of St. Thomas as a setter/DS. Becca is coaching her 2nd year at Xcel, working towards a BBA/MBA in marketing, and competing in her final season at UST as a senior. 


Coach Johnson joins the coaching staff for Xcel with an impressive background in volleyball. She began coaching for Tarkington ISD in 1981 and started the volleyball program 5 years later in 1986. Building a legacy, Johnson led the Longhorns to 3 state appearances in 2001, 2011, and 2012. She was named TGCA 1A-4A Coach of the Year and SETX Coach of the Year in 2012. Johnson was voted District Coach of the Year 17 times. In addition to coaching, Johnson also served as the TGCA Volleyball Chair and a TGCA Board of Director. 

Johnson has 3 children (Chelsea, Kendall, and Tristan) and 4 grandchildren (Jackson, Brux, Elijah, and Landree)!

Tiffany Jack - Roaming Coach

Tiffany Jack is from Baytown and attended Ross S. Sterling High School where she was a dual sport athlete in volleyball and basketball. Tiffany was an outside and right side hitter who continued her career at Midland College for two years. She then transferred to Concordia College in Bronxville, New York and competed in NCAA DII. Tiffany graduated with a B.S. in Business and returned back home to begin her coaching career. She has been coaching in USAV and UIL for six years. Tiffany is currently the GCM freshman coach after being at Baytown Junior previously. 


Ashley Dempsay joins Xcel for her second season and brings a wealth of experience. She was a three-year letterwinner at Sterling High School and received 2nd Team All-District her junior year as a six-rotation outside hitter. As a senior, Ashley earned Greater Houston Player of the Week, 1st Team All-District, All-Academic Team, and was team captain.  

This will be her 8th year coaching club volleyball and has experience in every age including developmental. Usually coaching two teams a season, Ashley has won many tournaments in the Houston area. When she's not on the court, she's chasing around her three kids in the country life!
