Xcel Volleyball congratulates Emma Tompkins on her collegiate commitment to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie, TX. Emma, a senior at Waller High School, signed her National Letter of Intent on September 1st with family and friends by her side.

Led by Head Coach Hank Moore, SAGU is a Division I NAIA program and competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Last fall the program finished strong with a 30-9 overall record and 15-1 conference record. The program is currently off to another impressive start with a record of 9-1.

Emma says, “I chose SAGU because of the amazing faith filled environment and the awesome campus. It’s a place where I can see myself thriving as a student, athlete, and person. I love the program that the coaches and girls have built there. It really is one big family connected through volleyball and faith.”

Emma has played for Xcel for 4 years and was coached by Kasey Price, Xcel Head Coach, last spring for Kingwood 17s. Coach Price says, “Emma is a go getter, she has drive and terrific work ethic. SAGU is getting a tremendous athlete that will do great things for them! She has the intangibles that every coach wants.” Emma will be a returner for Coach Price’s 18s team and looks forward to the competiveness of her age group.
